cropped-027-Villa-Rivière-Montréal-VIP-Automne-2015-1.jpgIn the early 19th century, just across the Assomption River and the Villa Rivière Montréal on the north shore, a small town took shape. It was first called Petit Village. Although belonging to the parish of Repentigny, this gathering of houses of artisans and merchants had a privileged economic link with L’Assomption, which was at that time one of the major business centers in Lower Canada. This Petit Village later became Saint-Paul-l’Ermit.

The variety of architectural types, the quality of individual homes and their disposal that evoke both an old Village and a resort giving to this sector a special charm.
Every two years takes place at Petit Village a Festival that immerses the people here and elsewhere in an atmosphere of yesteryear.
